JUROR

Paddy Johnson is the founding editor of Art Fag City and the Arts Editor for the L Magazine. In addition to her work on these two publications, she has been published in New York Magazine, artreview.com,  Art in America, The Daily, Print Magazine, Time Out NY, The Reeler, The Daily Beast, The Huffington Post, The Guardian, and New York Press. Paddy lectures widely about art and the Internet at venues including Yale University, Parsons, Rutgers, South by Southwest, and the Whitney Independent Study Program. In 2007 she received a scholarship to attend iCommons conference in Croatia as the art critic. In 2008, she served on the board of the Rockefeller Foundation New Media Fellowships and became the first blogger to earn a Creative Capital Arts Writers grant from the Creative Capital Foundation. Two years later, Paddy was nominated for best art critic at The Rob Pruitt Art Awards and won The 2010 Village Voice award for Best Art Blog. Paddy also writes a regular column on art for TheL Magazine.

TO APPLY

To apply, artists should attach their statement and/or CV as well images of submitted artworks in an email sent to info@galleryca.org with subject heading 'JURIED_ARTIST LAST NAME.' No more than 12 images may be entered. All images must be in JPEG format. Video & digital artists may submit links. Please do not copy & paste within the body of the email. 

Artists may submit multiple pieces and are solely responsible for delivering and picking up accepted works. Two dimensional pieces should not exceed 60”x 60” and must be ready to hang/display. Three dimensional works should not be taller than 72" and wider than 48", unless previously approved by Gallery CA. Artworks considered unsuitable for hanging/presentation will be refused. Gallery CA reserves the right to refuse an artwork that is misrepresented through documentation or is not the piece selected by the juror. 

Artists will be notified by Monday, December 17. Selected artworks need to be delivered to Gallery CA by Friday, December 21.
