Navigating through moments in time the artists inTexture of the Drift confront personal allegory and the ambiguity of the image. Alana Bergstrom's large scale paintings evoke an immediate visceral response asking the viewer to meditate on the relationship between the velocity of time and a singular moment. Like Bergstrom, Katherine Gagnon’s paintings question the nature of such finite moments and how liminal spaces are experienced through psychological verses physical means. Allana Clarke presents a 3 channel video installation to explore the idea of the Gaze in relation to a comfortable consumption of an image. Katie Duffy's casts of her body and manually manipulated 3D prints reexamine historical and contemporary notions of the role of the female body and sexual empowerment. Chrissy Scolaro's sculptures are recreations of iconic playground objects, complicating their function in an attempt to challenge presumptions and expectations of the created narrative.
